This is an independent website. It is not run by, or connected with, the UK Government or any public body.

Band by Band shows what each council tax band costs in every council in England, Scotland and Wales, from the statistics published by the UK, Scottish and Welsh governments and the Valuation Office Agency. Our guides, based on GOV.UK and the law, explain how bands work. Every page lists its sources at the bottom, with the date we read them; about the data explains each one.

We are not a council and we cannot look up the band of a home, change a band, or deal with a bill. For those, contact your council or use the official services named on each page. The site gives general information, not advice on your own situation.

The site carries no advertising and no affiliate links. If that changes, each page concerned will say so clearly.
