About Ealing’s figures

In Ealing, Band D is more than a reference point: it is also the band most homes are in. 49,070 of the borough's 151,150 properties carry that letter, 32.5% of the stock, and only 7 councils anywhere in England have a bigger proportion. The £2,138.53 set for 2026/27 is therefore the charge for the borough's biggest group of homes.

That charge is up £97.51 from £2,041.02, or 4.8%. Ealing comes 19th in London, a mere 1.2% over the boroughs' mean, while against the simple mean of English councils it comes in 11.3% lower.

Ealing's own slice of Band D is £1,628.02 (76.1%). The other £510.51 (23.9%) is the Greater London Authority's precept, and because the Met's policing and London's firefighting service are included in it, neither turns up as an item on its own. No parish precept is charged.

Band C (24.8%) and Band E (16.8%) rank next after Band D; together the three middle bands, C to E, cover 74.0% of Ealing's housing. Right at the ends, 4,930 homes are Band A and 1,050 are Band H, billed £1,425.69 and £4,277.06 respectively.

Counted in Band D equivalents, Ealing's base is 125,618, 6th in London, and its return expects 98% of bills to be paid.
