About Lambeth’s figures

Lambeth's Band D bill for 2026/27 is £2,047.11; in 2025/26 it was £1,953.95, so homes in that band pay £93.16 more (4.8%). That leaves Lambeth 15.1% lower than the simple mean of English councils. Of the 32 London boroughs it ranks 24th, and it is 3.2% cheaper than their mean.

One feature of the borough's housing stands out. Bands B and D contain almost identical numbers of homes, 33,390 and 33,530; each represents about 22.4% of Lambeth's 149,380. Band C is larger than either, at 42,540 (28.5%). Band A is small, 3.4% or 5,030 homes, and the three dearest bands account for 12.1% between them. For Band B the 2026/27 bill is £1,592.20, and for Band C it is £1,819.65; the 16,820 Band E homes are billed £2,502.02, and Band H costs £4,094.22.

Lambeth's Band D splits between two authorities. The borough sets £1,536.60 (75.1%); the Greater London Authority's precept takes £510.51 (24.9%). Policing for the capital and its fire brigade sit inside that GLA line, so a Lambeth bill carries no police or fire charge of its own, and no parish precept exists.

Lambeth's return records 116,594 in Band D equivalents as the base, 7th in London, and works on the basis that 96.5% will be paid.
